The top ten places for business trips in UK

Bristol has a lot of media, IT and public sector businesses. There are a lot of retail businesses in the busy port city as well.

Oxford’s businesses are mainly based in the technological and creative sectors. The world class university creates many fine minds to advance the businesses in the city. It’s also popular with tourism based businesses, with it’s use as the backdrop of the television programmes Morse and Endeavour, among others.

Edinburgh is home to a lot of science parks and research centres, this historical city also has a large amount of tourist based businesses. It’s excellent transport links connect it with Glasgow, among other places.

Leeds is the centre for many financial services businesses. It’s enjoyed a considerable regeneration over the last few years. West Yorkshire is going to receive over a billion for improving transport links over the next few years.

Cambridge is the home for a lot of technology and science based businesses. It’s excellent transport links mean that it’s only 45 minutes to London. There is a lot of tourism business as well, given the fame of the city.

Manchester’s businesses are largely in the creative and digital business sectors. Although the city also has a lot of tourism, given it’s musical history, producing bands such as Oasis, and the Stone Roses.

Sheffield is still very popular with manufacturing businesses, but also now has a lot of technology based companies setting up in the city. Some are drawn there no doubt by the good transport links.

Birmingham had the highest amount of new start-ups, in the UK during 2014. Part of the draw of Birmingham for new businesses is the good transport links. The Bull ring is famous for shopping, it’s 500 plus brands bringing in a average of 750,000 people a week.

Cardiff has a good deal of financial based businesses setting up, such as banks, pension providers and insurance brokers. However it has enjoyed an increase in tourism businesses, thanks to Doctor Who fans, flocking to see where the television programme was filmed from 2005. 

Glasgow has become popular with technology businesses, since it’s regeneration. The largest city in Scotland also boasts good transport links, with other major UK cities.

Newcastle is one of the UK’s most prominent cities for high tech energy businesses. It’s also got a strong tourism business base, drawing in visitors thanks to high profile people from the area such as Cheryl Cole, and Alan Shearer.
